Hello Friends,

Welcome to the Wilderness of COVID19. Suddenly pastors are forced to reach out to folk in a new way, one we are ill-equipped to handle. (Believe it or not we didn’t learn about Zoom in Divinity School.) While pastors are struggling to adapt we recognize that our God has always been able to adapt to new circumstances. Our God has always figured out a way to love us through them. Surely our God will get us through this as well.

Right now Valley of the Flowers Church is worshiping via Zoom every Sunday morning at 10 am. If you would like to join us you are most welcome. We welcome all people regardless of age, race, class, status, gender identity, sexual orientation… ALL are welcome at our church. If you would like the Zoom link please email me at ucclompoc@gmail.com and I’ll send it right out to you. In the meantime, here is a link to last Sunday’s Devotion. (Devotion = “Shorter Than a Regular Sermon” so it’s a quick read. Yay!)

Finally, we still represent “Progressive Christianity in the 805.” We are concerned about the well-being of our community and we are very aware that some people are struggling much more these days than others. We ask for prayers for the staff and inmates of our local Federal Penitentiary and for those who are currently experiencing homelessness. We also ask for prayers for all those who are serving on the “front lines,” those who are sick, those who have lost loved ones and those who are facing unemployment.

Stay well folks and remember that God loves you with a love that will never let you go.

Reverend Jane Quandt, Pastor
